Tom Allen: Getting by with a little help from his friends
Since coming to the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Tom Allen, D-ME, has repeatedly voted against a constitutional amendment that would outlaw desecration of the United States’ flag.Now that he’s running for the United States Senate, he’s getting noticed for it. He should really check who are his friends on MySpace as we all do.

NB: I think that a constitutional amendment on flag burning is a complete waste of legislative time and that it would probably not pass judicial scrutiny. However, the rest of the piece makes some valid points.
